Quiksilver Leverages Social Media For Social Good

Social responsibility, good and initiatives are at the top of most brands minds these days. Why? Because how a brand gives back what they get is becoming the barrier to entry into consumer consciousness.

Most recently, Huntington Beach-based Quiksilver Women’s has harnessed the power of social media to crowdsource a powerful celebration for their brand ambassador, Stephanie Gilmore.

The social media campaign has a greater purpose – to support Stephanie Gilmore’s charity of choice, Coeur De Foret. For the past 2 years, the association Cœur de Forêt has worked to develop a successful economic model in Senegal, Africa. Quiksilver Foundation is donating $1 for every #5STEPH submission across these social media channels.

The call to action is simple. Simply share via a photo of what’s inspiring you via your favorite social media outlet with a representation of the number five using the hashtag #5STEPH. Each day of the month long promotion, Stephanie will be choosing her favorite #5STEPH photo to win a $100 giftcard to shop at Quiksilver.com, They will donate up to $10,000.00.

The campaign lives on Quiksilver Women’s Facebook tab. Quiksilver Women is passionate about utilizing social media to share their brand’s story, and embraces channels across verticals including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and Pinterest.
