The Next Web’s TNW Magazine publishes its fashion issue
Fashionistas, get ready to download. Last week, we told you about nine magazines to read online or in print. Today, we’re adding Number 10. The Next Web has released the latest issue of its magazine, and it’s dedicated to–you guessed it–fashion. More specifically, fashion websites and startups in New York, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Los Angeles and Beijing.
The Next Web magazine app, which is designed for the iPad, was built by editor-in-chief Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten, with a small team. Unlike the site’s standard iPad app, TNW Magazine focuses on longer feature pieces, plus summaries of major news stories, videos and reviews from the blog.
One of our favorite curation sites, AHAlife, the New York City ecommerce company that selects unique luxury products, has sponsored the issue. AHAlife founder and CEO Shauna Mei offers her top 10 gift picks available on AHAlife, which pairs editorial with celebrity curators including Tim Gunn, DVF, Carmindy, Wendi Murdoch, Daniel Boulud, Bobbi Brown, Petra Nemcova, Cynthia Rowley and Tina Brown.
Companies feature in this issue include Not Just a Label, Of a Kind, Editd, Closet Rich, Shoes of Prey and Carrie Hammer. The issue features articles on custom clothing, the art of curation, geek trends and hot fashion startups from Europe, North America and Asia. In addition, there are two guest posts from the founders of Rent the Runway and Broke & Chic.
Not only is there a lot of cool information in this issue, but the responsive layout is really fun to navigate. Completely dynamic. It’s really nice to see iPad publishing that goes beyond “flipping” pages into a dynamic layout that goes in four directions, incorporates MP3 and video (which are all really good, btw) and uses a complex, dynamic layout that scrolls text separate from images. Kudos, The Next Web. We’re looking forward to your next fashion issue.
Have you read the May issue of TNW Magazine yet? What do you think?
