Kate Spade New York Launches Fathom Travel Site

kate spade new york partners with Fathom for city guides that offer travel recommendations for cities around the world.

What’s better than a really great travel blog? A really great travel blog with style. Now, in addition to Louis Vitton’s City Guides, kate spade new york has partnered with Fathom, a delightful, immaculately-curated travel guide, to launch its own city guides for New York, London, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Tahiti. As someone who’s traveled to three out of the five locales, the recommendations are impeccable.

In addition to restaurants, hotels and nightlife, the kate spade news york city guides offer a packing list, which is helpful, and something that they call a cheat sheet. All of the recommendations are, as the British say, “spot on.” I wish I would have read it before I visited London. I would have saved a bundle on cabs. New global destinations will be added seasonally, so be sure to check back before you plan your next trip. I know I will.

One of the best things about the kate spade new york partnership was that it introduced me to Fathom, which is now one of my favorite blogs. It covers both hot spots and the destinations less traveled–how awesome is it that they offer advice about travelling to Antarctica? Fathom is a thoughtful mix of offbeat recommendations, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, packing tips and tricks and practical advice, all presented in a beautiful package. The blog is delightful. It chronicles travel experiences that are off the beaten tourist track yet compelling, fashionable and inspirational.

Fathom also offers “Postcards,” interviews with real people about their travel experiences, tips and stories. These interviews are both intimate and informational, really compelling. I can’t wait to see where Fathom goes next!

What do you think of the Fathom travel tips? What’s your favorite destination?

  1. Good recommendations but they are a little “safe” and don’t necessarily reveal any hidden gems. If they created these as little booklets and gave them away with their bags I think these would have the potential to be more of a hit.

Interesting idea! I thought they were right on target–they even identified a brand new coffee spot in LA that’s got *the best* coffee in town that hardly anyone knows about–and I discovered a couple new spots as well.
