EQAL Launches U Look Haute, First YouTube Fashion and Beauty Channel
Next-generation media company EQAL has launched U Look Haute, the first online fashion and beauty YouTube network featuring tips, interviews, stories and reviews from celebrities, experts and everyday women.
Created by the innovative team behind lonelygirl15, the fashion and beauty YouTube Channel will feature a wide variety of interactive entertainment including video series, extensive behind the scenes footage and on-demand options featuring YouTube personalities, TV stars, designers and reality competitions.
“The YouTube Original Channel, u look haute, allows us to program an online network with richly produced fashion and beauty content in short form, scheduled programming, elevating the experience of episodic entertainment online,” said EQAL’s co-founders, CEO Miles Beckett and president Greg Goodfried.
The launch schedule includes “Beauty Vlogger Boot Camp,” a reality competition series starring the YouTube’s Elle and Blair Fowler in a Project-Runway-meets-America’s-Next-Top-Model competition show to find the next big beauty vlogger.
Upcoming shows include “ReNailz,” a series dedicated to nail styles and trends, and the weekly “The Haute List,” a round-up of the best of beauty and style focused on the hottest names in the industries. Actress, musician and Disney favorite, Chelsea Kane will also participate on the network.
“Fashion and beauty is a fast-growing category on YouTube, with a passionate audience looking for the latest trends and inspiration for their own looks. We’re excited to see more high-quality original programming like u look haute coming to YouTube to give this audience even more reasons to keep spending more and more time on the site,” said Terry Hurlbutt, lifestyle lead for YouTube’s original programming group.
The programming is produced by EQAL Media Studios, the video production arm of EQAL. Guest contributors including celebrities from television and film as well as popular YouTube talent will be featured in upcoming projects. Stay tuned!
