Social Travel Platform Trippy Adds ‘Project Delightful’
Want some visual inspiration to fuel your wanderlust? Trippy, the social sharing travel website and mobile application, is giving visitors an early preview of the site’s next evolution, referred to internally as “Project Delightful,” a new visual-browsing experience which allows users to discover travel ideas through photos.
Project Delightful allows people to view pages of travel photos, click on the places they want to go and have been to and add travel inspiration boards, just like on Pinterest.
Each travel photo is geo-tagged, which allows users to see their collection of photo ideas plotted on a map. Trippy also has the ability to tap into each users’ social network to show friends places they’re interested in. This makes it easy to get personally-relevant suggestions.
“With visual browsing, we’re really taking people all the way from dreaming to doing now, and we are so honored to have such an esteemed group of advisors leading the way to inspire great travel,” said J.R. Johnson, founder and CEO, Trippy. “As a new site, we’re able to be fast and focused as we take in how people respond to Trippy. It’s in that spirit of innovation that we’re giving an open look to the public of where we’re headed with Project Delightful.”
Fashion stylist Rachel Zoe sits on the advisory board of Trippy, and has contributed numerous wanderlust-worthy selections to the website on her travel board.
Other Trippy.com advisory board members include Jason Mraz, Anthony Bourdain, Kevin Rose, Tim Ferriss, Randi Zuckerberg, Andrew Zimmern, Gary Vaynerchuk, Chase Jarvis, Soleil Moon Frye, Soraya Darabi, Johnny Jet, Veronica Belmont, Kim Mance, Brett Snyder, Gary Arndt,Peter Shankman and Boo (“The World’s Cutest Dog”). As Trippy advisors, these influencers will share their travel experiences to inspire other travelers.
