A Day in the Life of an ALDO PR Girl

A Day in the Life of an ALDO PR Girl
Macala Wright

In fashion, if you don’t want to be a designer. You want to be in PR. With the rise of social media, being a social-facing, fashionably-dressed PR girl is probably the most coveted position in the industry these days (just ask DKNY and Oscar De La Renta). Being in fashion PR is not for the fainthearted, it takes gusto at any brand. This week, FMM caught up with Angela, just one of the many amazing PR girls at ALDO in Montreal, Canada and followed her through a day in her life. The WHOLE day…

A Day in the Life of an ALDO PR Girl

7:30AM: My typical day begins with grabbing a latte from my local coffee shop, Flocon Espresso. Quick check of my emails for any international urgencies. Other than my laptop, everything I need for the day goes in my Other Bag. Scarf, snacks and my current obsession, the ALDO RISE x Preen shoes…(those beautiful heels are called PAIDER).

Because everyone knows we can’t get through the day with just one pair. Sneakers to work then heels, of course.

10:30AM: Appointment with creative duo Melissa and Andrew, founders of Trusst Club (clients include: Rad Hourani, Grimes, JW Anderson) to discuss ideas for an upcoming photo shoot. We’re loving the tribal-meets-colour-blocked pump Strombeck (available in May). More is more.

The Other Bag by ALDO holds it all.

See? Of course, ALDO RISE x Mark Fast (CREGGERS) in Blue (Macala’s favorite) and the Mease in Neon Green.

12:00PM: Four arms to hold four bags. Office BFF, Catherine, meets me to grab lunch. She wore the ALDO RISE x Libertine, I should have worn those today…

3:00PM: In the handbag development department, searching for fall 2012 samples to send to our agencies for Press Days.

6:30PM: Packing up is pretty easy when you can tote your life’s essentials in a bag. After a day filled with interesting people, stories and spaces, I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will hold.

Signing off. Bisous de Montreal.
