Micheal Kors uses Facebook to showcase the Fashionable Life of the Hamilton Tote…and other handbags.
Today designer Michael Kors launch of a new Facebook campaign, Bag Alert, in which established street-style bloggers are asked to photograph real women they see carrying Michael Kors bags. While the campaign features many bags, we can help but notice that our favorite bag, the Hamilton tote, is fabulously featured.
Marking an ongoing effort on the part of the Michael Kors brand to engage, in increasingly innovative ways, with its Facebook community and raise its digital presence, the project lives on a dedicated tab of the Michael Kors Facebook page through the end of 2011. Each blogger’s work is posted for one week.
Fans can then vote weekly on their favorite photos, with the opportunity to win a bag from the MICHAEL Michael Kors holiday collection. At the end of the initiative, the most popular photo by each blogger will be displayed in a special gallery on Facebook and fans can continue to vote on their favorites. The blogger whose work receives the most votes will receive a cash prize toward a charitable donation and will be featured in 2012 on Destination Kors, the brand’s editorial-focused platform.
“Social media is now part of our brand’s DNA,” says Michael Kors. “It’s a way to communicate directly with our consumers, to let them know how much their opinions matter to us and to keep moving the needle forward in our interaction with them on every possible platform. And of course this is a fabulous way to see how all of these chic real women incorporate Michael Kors into their own style.”

Bag Alert currently features photos shot by Karen Blanchard of Where Did U Get That? and Where Did U Get That? STREET and Craig Arend of Altamira: Models Off Duty.
