So, we get excited when we see innovative ways to connect with our favorite local haunts or find new places to explore. When shopping is involved, we’re even more excited. So, we think it’s pretty smart that ShopNear.me hopes to take people’s location based interests and turn them into positive experiences for both retailers and consumers.

The Lookville team has developed a super slick location based shopping app called ShopNear.me. The smart, free, geolocation service recently launched private beta in San Francisco.

ShopNear.me describes itself as “the single best direct marketing platform for local clothing retailers.” Retailers get an instant mobile store front and website by simply uploading pictures of the clothing items they carry. ShopNear.me then sends push notifications to the participating retailers’ followers when there are new updates.

On the other side of the cash register, ShopNear.me app users enjoy the benefits of being able to follow their favorite stores, discover fashion items around them, and even notifications on special events on their mobile devices.
